Having character is more important because it shows who you are and how you would react to the situation. Character defines your personality, as in your attitude and they'll see your passion in what you are doing. Your actions towards what you are told or the fact that you can control your temper. Knowledge only shows how smart you are but it doesn't define you.It's all about the character, when other people see that you are a good sport then you will be highly recommend you to others, the word will go by saying you are a good person with good character. Also being smart also helps them see that you know better than to just act without thinking because it will help in the future.
